RELM Wireless bags order for P25 digital VHF portable radios and related equipment

Telecom Lead America: RELM Wireless has received its
first order under the previously announced Tactical Communications (TacCom)
contract issued by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

The size of the order is $128,000.

The order is for P25 digital VHF portable radios and
related equipment.  This order was competitively bid among suppliers of
two-way radio subscriber units on the TacCom contract.

“Though this order is below the dollar threshold at
which we normally issue a press release, it is significant because it opens the
gate as the first order issued to us under the TacCom contract.  It was
also encouraging to win this business in direct competition against other
suppliers on the contract.  We have high hopes for this contract as a
vehicle through which we can drive sales growth.  This order is the first
step,” said RELM President and Chief Executive Officer David Storey.
