RADWIN Selected for Digital City Project Brazil

RADWIN announced it was selected by the City of Colombo in Brazil for a large-scale Digital City project aimed at improving public safety.

RADWIN‘s  links transmit real time, high resolution video from surveillance cameras situated across the city back to the municipality control center where information is accordingly monitored and processed.

RADWIN’s high capacity wireless links also connect municipality offices by providing a high-speed connection. The links were deployed in a multiple Point-to-Point configuration, providing dedicated capacity to numerous sites from one central hub.

FABTEC, a Brazilian integrator, was responsible for the successful design and implementation of the project.

“Our number one goal is to improve public safety, by taking preventive measures to immediately improve the quality of life of our citizens,” said Jose Antonio Camacho, mayor of the city of Colombo.

“Our focus was to meet the needs of the municipality by implementing the latest technology. We also wanted to ensure system longevity and support for future system expansion in accordance with city growth. We chose RADWIN’s links because the high capacity video surveillance transmission surpassed all other equipment, technologically and commercially. The unique architecture of RADWIN’s multiple Point-to-Point links assured high performance and secured video quality that enabled us to detect and respond in real time to emergencies at the event location,” said Douglas Machado de Souza, director of the Monitoring Department.

“We are proud of the fact that our wireless systems met the technical and commercial requirements of the city of Colombo,” said Wilson Conti, managing director in Mercosul, RADWIN.

Our wireless solutions have been deployed in dozens of Municipality and Digital City projects around the world. They have been installed in complex sites in record time while acquiring a vital combination of high capacity connectivity and security at very competitive prices,” Conti added.

“Throughout the project, RADWIN has provided great support as well as using installation techniques that promise a very high level of operating performance,” said Fabiano Sales, director general of FABTEC.

Together with full support for our engineers and technicians, project success was assured. FABTEC has achieved its goal by partnering with RADWIN who provided a great technical proposition for a world class solution in a very competitive commercial proposal. Congratulations to RADWIN,” Sales added.
