Rising pressure on operators and increasing demand for Procera’s
PacketLogic technology have fueled worldwide company growth at Procera
Networks, the intelligent policy enforcement company.
This growth has led Procera to create two new C-level
positions at the company; chief strategy officer to be filled by former Procera
vice president of Global Marketing, Jon Lindén, and chief scientist to be held
by Peter Alm, a founder of Procera.
At the same time, Cam Cullen, formerly Procera’s vice
president of Product Management, has been appointed vice president of Global
Marketing, with an expanded marketing support team reporting to him.
All three, Lindén, Alm and Cullen, with 17, 12, and 20
years of industry experience, respectively, have been key contributors in
advancing Procera’s position as the leader in delivering intelligent policy
enforcement solutions.
Operators need data that they can trust and use to
optimize existing network resources and manage quality of service and security,
as data usage per subscriber keep growing. Procera’s single-minded focus on delivering
trusted network intelligence sets them apart from the pack.
“Procera’s network intelligence solution enables
operators to understand what types of traffic and applications are driving
usage and to maximize the quality and lifetime of their networks, thus helping
them remain profitable,” said James F. Brear, president and CEO of Procera
Networks.
“In the next 18 months, we expect network traffic to
have quadrupled even without an increase in subscriber numbers,” Brear
added.
With these promotions and an expanded executive team,
Procera is now even better positioned for strategic growth. Linden will focus
on accelerating the pace of strategic partnerships for Procera, growing the
company’s overall ecosystem.
At the same time Alm will oversee the research team at
Procera to create new industry-leading technologies that can be leveraged by
our customer base, and Cullen will continue to drive development and
monetization of Procera’s product range.
Procera’s mission of managing and monetizing the world’s
most complex networks for operators and their clients remains uppermost. And
customers are recognizing our success and their confidence in Procera with
multiple follow-on orders.
Procera provides its PacketLogic
solution to operators of both fixed and mobile networks. Mobile operators
asserted their confidence in Procera in a customer survey this year; they noted
uses for Procera’s products from video traffic management to network security.
Many of these clients sign follow-on orders, often for multiple millions of
dollars. Reflecting this, the past fiscal year has seen Procera’s revenue grow
by 75 percent YOY.
Linden, based in Varberg, Sweden, has worked with Procera
since the company’s initial launch in 2001. As Chief Strategy Officer, he is
responsible for Procera’s long-term strategy and technology partnerships.
He brings a strong background in sales, business
development and global marketing, with extensive experience in managing
networking products throughout their lifecycle. Prior to joining Procera
Networks, Linden was the CEO of a venture-funded company and led sales and
marketing at a content management software group.
As vice president of Global Marketing, Cullen is
responsible for Procera’s overall global marketing and product management. He
joined Procera in 2009 as vice president of product management; he executed
product strategy and expanded product offerings.
Prior to Procera, Cullen held senior product management
and marketing roles at Allot Communications and Quarry Technologies/Reef Point
Systems, where he was Vice President of Product Management and Marketing, as
well as various roles in business development, marketing and sales at 3Com.
Alm, based in Varberg, Sweden, is one of the original
founders of Netintact AB, and the original and ongoing chief architect of
Procera’s PacketLogic software. Procera acquired Netintact AB in 2006. Prior to
Procera, Alm was the principle author of XMMS (known as X11AMP in the early
days), which was the Linux Journal Award winning media player for unix six
years in a row.
Procera has also added the new role of product marketing
manager, recently appointing Hiran Thacker to the position, based in Fremont,
California. Hiran joined Procera from Tellabs.
Procera Networks recently announced
that an existing Tier-1 mobile operator customer the largest in a South Pacific
nation has selected PacketLogic solutions to be the core of its new satellite
bandwidth service to a new national wholesale-only, open access high-speed
broadband network.
