Telecom Lead America: Primus Canada, an alternative
telecommunications service provider in Canada, has introduced a new Prepaid
Home Phone service for its consumers in Ontario and Quebec.
The new Prepaid Home Phone service plans start at
$42.50/month. The plans offers an array of features like voice mail, call
waiting and call display.
The company said that each plan includes low long
distance rates and there is an optional long distance plan available with
better international rates.
Rob Warden, senior VP of Residential Services at Primus
Canada said Primus Prepaid Home Phone service offers customers another way to
get a home phone.
He added that the new service will appeal to consumers
who prefer to pay with cash, those who are dealing with credit issues and new
Canadians who have not yet established credit.
According to recent research commissioned by Primus
Canada and conducted by Angus Reid, home phone service will remain an essential
service for over 80 percent of Canadians.
Primus has partnered with Ukash and Now Prepay to enable
customers to purchase Ukash vouchers across the country.
David Hunter, CEO at Ukash said that Primus customers can
get Ukash codes from any self-serve Now Prepay terminal found in retail
locations such as convenience stores and gas stations across the country.
The company’s customers can choose monthly plans, while
fees are charged daily. Long distance calls are also billed in real time.
Customers can easily check their balance right from their
home phone to find out how much they have left in their account.
