Panasonic encouraged school students of India to contribute towards
building a greener tomorrow through its enthralling initiative “Eco
Picture Diary contest”.
In August 2011, Panasonic Eco picture diaries were sent to schools
across Delhi and Mumbai, where the students participated by compiling creative
pictures, illustrations and photographs in order to create awareness about the
environment.
“This contest provides a great opportunity for children and their
families to get engaged in a competition that target young kids right from
their learning days to understand the significance of preserving and protecting
the environment. Through such activities we at Panasonic are working towards
our vision of becoming the No.1 Green Innovation Company in the electronics
industry by 2018,” said Daizo Ito, president, Panasonic India.
Sakshi Satija from Father Agnel School- Noida has been adjudged the
winner by a comprising of Kan Takahashi and N.S Satish from Panasonic India.
Also part of the panel is S. Brahmachari, associate professor of Indian
Institute of Mass Communication.
The winner was chosen basis messaging, originality/creativity,
connectivity between picture and diary, impression and artistic ability. Kanak
Lata Kumari from St. Xavier’s High School and Ved D. Save from Rustomjee
Cambridge International School were recognized as runner ups of the contest.
The Eco Picture Diary contest was initiated by Panasonic with the aim of promoting awareness around the environment and its issues,
especially among children. In order to participate in the contest, children
between the age group 6 to 15 submitted their entries by September 16th 2011.
The shortlisted entries will be sent to Japan HQ by November 2011 and the final
winner will be a part of the Global Awarding Ceremony in Paris, France.
Panasonic has a vision to become the No.
1 Green Innovation Company in the electronics industry by 2018, when Panasonic
will celebrate its 100th anniversary.
