NTT Communications ropes in Arkadin to provide video conferencing in Japan

Telecom Lead Asia: NTT Bizlink, a subsidiary of NTT
Communications Corporation, has joined hands with Arkadin, a collaboration
services provider, to provide video conferencing to Japanese businesses.

Under the partnership, NTT Bizlink will combine its
products and services with Arkadin’s cloud-based video conferencing to offer
solutions available at NTT Communications Group.

“In a highly mobile, global workplace, personal
telepresence is fast becoming a must-have productivity tool. Together with NTT
Communications Group, we will lead the market with a new generation solution
that delivers the same quality video experience as the far more expensive and
complex legacy systems,” said Olivier de Puymorin, CEO and founder of Arkadin.

NTT Bizlink will provide Japanese businesses with the
next-gen video conferencing, which supports both personal and room systems.

The video conferencing service will be delivered as a ‘service’ for fast scalable deployments, and minimal up-front investments.

Additionally, the service will add up to nine video
displays for multiple participants to connect from any computer type or legacy
end point.

“Research consistently points to the importance of
facial expressions and body language in business communications. Being able to
easily collaborate face-to-face is a tremendous productivity advantage for
businesses of all sizes, and it will be especially useful in Japan, considering
its huge global economic footprint,” said Dennis Tanaka, general manager, Japan
and Korea.

The Japanese market for cloud-based video conferencing is
swiftly increasing and it is expected that the Japanese video communication for
businesses market will reach 61 billion yen.

Cloud computing and smart devices are expanding the
video conferencing market to grow 210 billion yen in 2016 and 800 billion yen
in 2020 in total,” says Kenji Hara, senior marketing analyst, Seed
Planning, Inc.
