Telecom Lead Asia: NEC has completed the acquisition
of Convergys’ Information Management business for $449 million.
The transaction covers all of IM’s business, including
Smart Revenue Solutions, across different verticals, including communications,
utilities, and logistics.
In March, NEC Corporation inked an agreement to acquire the IM
business of Convergys. The IM business delivers Business Support Systems (BSS)
solutions to communications service providers around the world.
Now, the IM business will be integrated into NetCracker
Technology, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of NEC.
This acquisition demonstrates our commitment to bringing

The rapid integration of the Convergys IM business into NetCracker will
optimize business operations and leverage powerful new synergies with NEC,”
said Nobuhiro Endo, President of NEC.
NEC announced that NetCracker will be responsible for all
business operations of this entity.

Tellabs and NEC ink deal for resale of Tellabs 7100 packet
optical transport system
Recently, Tellabs, a vendor of optical networking
solutions, and NEC Networks & System Integration Corporation entered into
an agreement for the resale of Tellabs 7100 Packet Optical Transport
System into the Japanese marketplace.
