NEC Casio Mobile selects AuthenTec VPN client for Android smartphones



AuthenTec, a
provider of security and identity management solutions, announced that NEC
Casio Mobile Communications has selected its QuickSecVPN Client solution for
enterprise-class security in NEC Casio’s Android smartphones.


AuthenTec’s QuickSec VPN Client for Android helps ensure enhanced VPN security on the
handset as well as interoperability with the most widely deployed network
systems.

helped us achieve our goal of providing our Android phones with convenient
world-class security to ensure secure communications between users and the
networks to which they connect,” said Katsumi Muroi, general manager Software
Products Division at NEC Casio Mobile Communications.

a key element to the growth and adoption of Android phones for the enterprise,
and AuthenTec was very pleased to work with NEC Casio to incorporate VPN client
security in their smartphones,” said Simon Blake-Wilson, vice president of
Embedded Security Solutions at AuthenTec.

Mobile VPN Client for Android is a complete Mobile VPN solution tailored
specifically for Android phones and tablets, and is based on AuthenTec’s widely
deployed QuickSec technology.


This VPN
client solution has been thoroughly tested and proven for interoperability with
all major VPN gateways and comes with an easy customizable user interface.
QuickSec VPN Client for Android is robust enough for enterprise VPN access but
as easy for phone and tablet users as entering a password or PIN. Some of the
key features include complete IPsec, Android 2.3 and above, IPv6, IKEv2 with
MOBIKE, Xauth, EAP-based authentication, and split tunneling support.
