MWC 2014: GCF signs MoU with Telecommunications Standards Development Society, India

At the MWC 2014 (Mobile World Congress), Barcelona, the Global Certification Forum (GCF) and Telecommunications Standards Development Society, India (TSDSI), announced their Memorandum of Understanding to share information and perspectives on mobile device testing and the needs of the Indian mobile phone market.

The MoU was signed by Lars Nielsen, operations manager, GCF and Kumar N Sivarajan, chairman of TSDSI.

The MoU provides a framework for the two organizations to collaborate and share their perspectives on device testing and certification; to identify any particular needs TSDSI with respect to the Indian market and to provide TSDSI member organizations the opportunity to be informed of devices being certified through GCF. Operator members of GCF are automatically advised each time a mobile device is certified.

The MoU will facilitate contact and engagement between the two organizations. Representatives of TSDSI will have the opportunity to enhance their understanding of GCF Certification by attending GCF Steering Group and Agreement group meetings and will also be granted access to GCF’s online knowledge base.
