Mobile broadband industry in the United States to grow to $167.7 billion by end of 2016

Telecom Lead U.S: Mobile Broadband industry in the United
States had total revenues of $50 billion in 2011, representing a compound
annual growth rate (CAGR) of 33.6 percent between 2007 and 2011, according to
Research and Markets.


The research also found industry consumption volumes
increased with a CAGR of 46.7 percent between 2007 and 2011, to reach a total
of 236.3 million subscribers in 2011.

 

The market is expected to decelerate, with an anticipated
CAGR of 27.4 percent for the five-year period 2011 – 2016, which is expected to
drive the industry to a value of $167.7 billion by the end of 2016.

 

Top 10 telecom markets based on broadband subscribers in the
world

 

According to Broadband Forum, Asia continues to dominate
with over 10.3 million more subscriber lines added in Q3 2011, higher than in
Q2 and the same quarter in 2010. With over 246 million lines in total, Asia now
has 42.34 percent of the total market share in broadband.

China, USA, Japan, Germany, France, UK, Russia, South Korea, Brazil and Italy.
