M2 Optics launches modular fiber optic simulator

Telecom Lead America: M2 Optics has launched a new,
totally modular fiber optic simulator.

 

The modular fiber optic simulator can be user-configured
for physical network emulation and other applications such as equipment
certification.

 

The Fiber Lab Flex Optical Fiber Testing Platform is a
19″ rack mountable instrument which accepts up to 10 removable modules.

 

The modular fiber optic simulator offers virtually
unlimited configuration flexibility and scalability.

 

Featuring modules which can be used in the Fiber Lab Flex
Optical Fiber Testing Platform or separately on a desktop, a fully loaded
module with 10 km of fiber weighs 4.75 lbs. and measures 9.5″H x
1.5″W x 11″D.

 

M2 Optics said typical applications include physical
network simulation with multiple fibers in the laboratory, equipment
certification using a mix of fiber types, product development, quality control
and latency testing.

 

The Fiber Lab Flex Optical Fiber Testing Platform is
priced according to fiber type and length configurations. Each module can be
purchased separately.

 

M2 Optics offers solutions for testing and monitoring
fiber optic equipment and systems in the Telecom, CATV, Networking Equipment,
Aerospace, and Education markets.
