JDSU updates telecom tower testing solution

Test and measurement vendor JDSU has updated its telecom tower testing solution.

The enhancements are aimed at allowing field technicians to identify and fix signal interference problems without climbing the tower.

The addition of Radio Frequency over Common Public Radio Interface (RFoCPRI) capabilities to its CellAdvisor Base Station Analyzer has enabled the T&M vendor to offer remote maintenance and management capabilities for fiber-based cell sites.

“With CellAdvisor, JDSU was the first to integrate optical power capabilities on a base station tester, the first to introduce integrated fiber inspection and now the first to introduce integrated CPRI,” said Jim Nerschook, vice president in JDSU’s Network and Service Enablement business segment.
