IPtronics appoints Martin Rofheart chairman

IPtronics, a provider of integrated circuits for parallel
optical interconnects, announced the appointment of Martin Rofheart as its
chairman of the Board.

Rofheart brings significant industry experience and
leadership to help guide the board as the company continues to experience
increased demand for its parallel optics semiconductor solutions.

“As IPtronics continues to grow and expand its
market position for high speed ICs for parallel optics, we required additional
expertise to ensure we capitalize on the tremendous market opportunities we
have before us,” said Niels Finseth, CEO of IPtronics.

“This is an exciting time for high speed optics. The
requirements for higher bandwidth, higher density and lower power continue to
push the need for innovative technologies, like high speed parallel optics. I
look forward to working closely with the IPtronics management team and board of
directors to expand its early market position and reputation as the leading
provider of ICs for parallel optical interconnects,” said Martin Rofheart.

Rofheart held various senior executive roles in high
technology companies focused in the optical, copper and wireless industry
segments. Most recently, he was senior vice president and general manager of
Analog and Mixed Signal Products for Gennum Corporation where he managed a
10Gb/s analog semiconductor products portfolio for the company. Prior to that,
Rofheart held executive roles at Freescale Semiconductor and was CEO of
XtremeSpectrum.
