IBM to deploy SAP ERP at Automotive Axles

 IBM
announced that Automotive Axles, a joint venture of Kalyani Group and Meritor
USA has engaged IBM as the deployment partner for SAP ERP
ECC 6.0 to build a robust IT
framework for its operations.

The
enterprise SAP implementation will help Automotive Axles create a scalable
system to obtain better access and control over information flow within the
organization.

By
bringing all the functions on a common platform and application, the solution
will provide an integrated view of the business to the management team and
would therefore enable faster decision-making.

IBM will implement SAP ERP to enhance and
integrate processes across production planning, materials and stores, quality,
sales and distribution, plant maintenance, finance and costing, statutory
requirements and HR department.

The
deployment will support Automotive Axles’ aggressive growth plans and the goal
of strengthening its leadership position as a rear axle producer in the Indian
market.

We
wanted IT to be the key driver for operational and strategic decision making
process and were looking for a technology partner who can lead the deployment
with their proven skills and best practices,”said S. Ramkumar, chief financial
officer and company secretary,
Automotive Axles.

The SAP ERP deployment will help the company
improve material requirement planning, manage inventory better, and control
cost more effectively. Automotive Axles will also benefit from improved
production cost, better asset management, and enhanced financial reporting
system.

IBM, with its domain expertise, is in a
unique position to deploy this end-to-end solution at Automotive Axles to
streamline and seamlessly integrate their processes across manufacturing,
logistics and accounting. The engagement with Automotive Axles is an important
step in our endeavor to provide world-class technologies and services delivery
to clients across a wide spectrum of size and geographic presence,” said Sriram
Rajan, vice president, General Business, South Region, IBM India/South Asia.

IBM recently announced that WinHire
Technologies, provider of a video-based social networking solution for virtual
recruitment, has
selected the IBM SmartCloud Enterprise solution to roll out
their next generation business model leveraging social media. Making a choice
over Amazon, Win Hire preferred the IBM solution as it allowed them to access a
secure enterprise class shared private cloud computing infrastructure to drive
higher efficiency, manage costs and increase speed-to-market.

WinHire aims to be the market leader by leveraging
technology to improve the recruitment process as well as minimize recruiting
risks and reduce costs. Through the innovative use of social media, WinHire
will provide a platform for virtual interaction between job-seekers and
recruiters.
