Huawei to invest EUR 200 million in Romania by 2014

Huawei is likely to invest
nearly EUR 200 million in Romania by 2014, with its main investment projects to
be a Huawei European Design Centre at Pipera and a nationwide fiber optic
network, jointly with Romania’s Transelectrica, according 
to data with the Romanian Ministry of
Commerce.



The opening of the Huawei European Design Centre in the Pipera area, near
Bucharest City, is scheduled for February 2012.


The data were released at a
roundtable conference on Saturday hosted by the Romanian Embassy in Beijing, where
attending were Romania’s Minister of Economy, Trade and Business Milieu Ion
Ariton and officials of Chinese companies interested in investing in Romania.
