Telecom Lead America: Cloud managed video services
provider Glowpoint has inked its partnership with Columbus Business Solutions
to offer cloud hosted video services to enterprises in Latin America and the
Caribbean.
Columbus will offer Columbus Cloud Video Conferencing, a
cloud hosted service for on-demand visual communication.
The long-term agreement is for supporting calling between
any videoconferencing solution including desktop and mobile applications such
as Cisco Jabber Video. The service leverages Glowpoint’s Virtual Video Room
(VVR) offering, which is delivered from the OpenVideo cloud and supports over
40,000 registered endpoints.
“Our partnership with Glowpoint positions us to
offer cloud services that will allow our customers to easily adopt video
without investing in on-premise infrastructure and support,” stated John
Reid, president and chief operating officer of Columbus Communications.
The Columbus Cloud Video Service supports multi-party
videoconferences with any standards based room, desktop, and mobile video
solution from Cisco, Polycom, LifeSize, and other leading manufacturers.
The service supports participants on iPhones, iPads, and
Android devices, including support for audio only. Users are able to easily
dial into meetings using a private, six-digit access code, and share content
including PowerPoint presentations and rich media.
