GENBAND appoints B.G. Kumar as president

GENBAND, a developer of IP infrastructure and application
solutions, announced the appointment of B.G. Kumar as president of Networking
and Applications.

Kumar will lead GENBAND’s Applications and Networking
R&D team worldwide, which encompasses the company’s Session Border
Controller (SBC), Security Gateway and Application server and software
businesses.

Based at GENBAND‘s Texas,
headquarters, he will report directly to Charlie Vogt, president and CEO of
GENBAND.

His appointment reflects our strong commitment and
aggressive investment in GENBAND’s networking and applications business,
including the expansion of our Billerica center, which he will oversee.

Our unique ability to host an entire IP services suite
on a single GENBAND GENiUS platform is unlocking enormous potential for our
customers, from flexible, cost-efficient architectures to new
revenue-generating applications. We continue to be laser focused on delivering
this integrated all-IP vision to the market and the addition of B.G. will
increase our competitive advantage even further,” Vogt added.

Kumar brings to GENBAND more than 21 years of leadership
in the telecommunications industry across both market-leading start-up
companies and large, publicly traded companies. He most recently served as
executive vice president of Engineering and Operations at Mavenir Systems,
running worldwide Engineering and Operations teams across 5 countries (US, Canada,
UK, China and India).

This is an exciting time to join the GENBAND team as the
company leads the industry in network transformation for service providers
worldwide. GENBAND’s vision of an all-IP, GENiUS powered network is a powerful
and unique market differentiator that significantly changes the way service
providers operate. Charlie Vogt has built an outstanding management team and
company, and I look forward to supporting his growth plan and network
transformation strategy,” said Kumar.
