Enterprises can reduce wireless expenses by 20 percent with an enforced policy

Enterprises have experienced an average of 21 percent
savings in wireless expenses by developing, monitoring compliance of and
enforcing policy, according to AOTMP.

AOTMP research indicates that 81 percent of all
enterprises have established a formal wireless policy, yet only 28 percent of
them feel that it is completely effective. Many enterprises
see major opportunities to improve its effectiveness in terms of addressing
company objectives, employee liable devices, and security concerns.

“Wireless expenses account for 35 percent of a
company’s total telecom spend.  That percentage will continue
to grow into the foreseeable future,” said Timothy C. Colwell, senior
vice president of global performance management at AOTMP.

“With more and more Smart Devices and mobile
applications being managed, enterprises must think broadly about their wireless
policies to avoid damaging consequences and lost dollars,” Colwell added.

AOTMP’s report titled Enterprise Performance Series:
Policy, Governance and Security” represents findings from 181 enterprise
professionals across 22 different industries nationwide.
