Deutsche Telekom buys 25% stake in eSports business SK Gaming

Deutsche Telekom has agreed to invest in eSports by acquiring 25 percent equity stake in leading eSports business SK Gaming.
Deutsche Telekom network EuropeDeutsche Telekom is one of the first telecom operator to invest in an eSports organization. Deutsche Telekom already provides support for the professional teams in such disciplines as League of Legends, Clash Royale, FIFA20 and Hearthstone.

Hiro Kishi, head of sports sponsorship at Telekom Deutschland, said: “Our networks, products and services provide the best possible environment for the eSports and gaming community. SK Gaming is the perfect partner with whom we can cooperate to shape the market into the future.”

Deutsche Telekom’s network and its technological know-how in the gaming sector support SK Gaming’s performance centers in Cologne and Berlin to connect using fiber-optic cables for the ideal training environment.
