Dell revenue up 4% in BRIC countries in first quarter

Telecom Lead India: Dell said its revenue in the BRIC
(Brazil, Russia, India and China) countries increased 4 percent in the first
quarter of 2012.


Asia-Pacific and Japan revenue was flat in Q1 2012.


China revenue increased 9 percent.


Dell’s EMEA revenue decreased 1 percent in the quarter.


Revenue in Americas was down 7 percent.


Dell’s Capex during the first quarter was $142 million.


Dell said its total revenue decreased 4 percent to $14.4
billion.


Dell Enterprise Solutions and Services revenue grew 2
percent year over year to $4.5 billion.


Dell Services revenue was $2.1 billion, up 4 percent.
Services backlog increased 9 percent to $15.4 billion.


Dell-owned storage grew 24 percent to $423 million.


Server and networking revenue grew 2 percent.


Dell’s revenue from large Enterprise was $4.4 billion in
the quarter, a 3 percent decline.


Public revenue was $3.5 billion, a 4 percent decrease.


Small and Medium Business revenue grew 4 percent to $3.5
billion.


Dell said its enterprise Solutions and Services revenue
increased 17 percent, led by 23 percent growth in services revenue and 16
percent increase in servers and networking.


Dell’s consumer revenue declined 12 percent to $3
billion.
