Brocade appoints new Vice President for Asia Pacific

Telecom Lead Asia: Brocade has announced the
appointment of Charlie Foo as vice president for Asia Pacific (APAC). He will
look after the company’s overall growth strategy across Asia Pacific and will
be based in Singapore reporting directly into Ian Whiting, senior vice
president of Worldwide Sales.

Foo succeeds Deb Dutta to assume the region’s top role.
Foo has more than 20 years of sales management experience.

 

  During the past five years, Charlie has built and
led a robust and successful partner organization throughout the region, which
is instrumental in accelerating our IP business growth and maintaining our SAN
leadership position in the region. As APAC continues to take on an increased
significance for our global business, we are confident that this region will
quickly emerge as one of our primary growth engines under Charlie’s
leadership,” said Ian Whiting, senior vice president of Worldwide Sales.

 

He was most recently senior director of the Brocade
Partner Business Group for APAC where he drove the company’s regional business
strategy for growth and diversification, and led the partner strategy with
distributors, resellers, OEMs and global systems integrators across the region.
He joined Brocade in January 2007.

According to Forrester Research, APAC is a growth region
for IT with total investments in region expected to exceed $500 billion (USD)
in 2012, a 10 percent increase from $460 billion in 2011, making it the
third-largest IT market in the world.

 

With the appointment of Charlie Foo as vice president for
Asia Pacific, the company aims to tap increasing potential of APAC IT market.

 

Brocade delivers Proven Infrastructure solutions through EMC
initiative

 

Recently, Brocade announced its participation in a new
EMC initiative to deliver Proven Infrastructure solutions for customers seeking
transition to virtualization and cloud.
