Telecom Lead India: BFSI sector is by far the
largest user of messaging services accounting for 19 percent of the total
volume, according to a joint study conducted by IAMAI and IMImobile.
The study found that APIs are progressively making their
way into mobile data service platforms for mobile-engagement.
Vishwanath Alluri, founder & CEO of
IMImobile said that the study reveals that enterprises are increasingly
adopting mobile data service platforms to engage better with their employees
and end-customers.
The study said that BFSI sector is the largest user of
APIs accounting for 23 percent of the API volume. On the other hand, media and
entertainment claims the second spot with 15 percent of the volume.
The study found that the largest part of the usage comes
from metros and Tier-1 cities, while one third of the usage comes from smaller
towns.
The report Mobile Platform Adoption by Enterprises
highlights the present state of awareness, use and purpose of use of mobile
platform by enterprises to engage with various stakeholders.
The report suggests that businesses need a holistic and
well-coordinated strategy for m-Engagement which complements their other
marketing medium.
Furthermore, the report emphasized that a robust and
proven mobile data services platform that can act as a bridge between operators
and enterprises is needed.
The m-Engagement platforms expose mobility as a
service that can be used by enterprises and SMEs for reaching out to their
employees and their end-customers.
At the same time, telecom operators and platform
providers are joining hands to provide such platforms where businesses can
create enterprise-grade mobility services to reach their end-customers.
