Anite Nemo Outdoor supports Carrier Aggregation and Category 6 devices

Test and measurement vendor Anite on Thursday announced that its latest version of Nemo Outdoor supports Carrier Aggregation (CA) and Category 6 devices.

Nemo Outdoor is a laptop-based drive test solution for wireless network testing which supports over 270 terminals and scanning receivers from a range of vendors and all major network technologies, said Anite.

Telecom operators are currently in the testing and trialing phase of carrier aggregation and are launching LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) networks with the first phase of Cat 6 devices, using two carrier components with downlink bandwidths of 20 MHz.

Kai Ojala, CTO at Anite Network Testing, said: “We have achieved application data throughput of 293 Mbps with a 40 MHz bandwidth using two-component carrier aggregation and the latest test terminals with Anite’s Nemo Outdoor test solution in a laboratory environment.”
