Agilent completes acquisition of AT4 Wireless Test Systems business

Telecom Lead America: Test and Measurement major Agilent
Technologies has completed the acquisition of the Test Systems business assets
of AT4 wireless.

 

Announced on July 16 this year, the acquisition is
critical for strategy of Agilent to be the test solution vendor of
choice for the leading device suppliers.

 

Speaking on completion of the acquisition, Joe DePond,
vice president and general manager of Agilent Mobile Broadband Operation said
that the level of industry investment in wireless and wireless test is
unprecedented, and the company is happy to add talented team and technology
of AT4 wireless to further extend the breadth of Agilent solutions.

 

With the completion of this acquisition, the AT4 wireless
Test Systems products are now available for sale directly from Agilent and
Agilent’s channel partners.

 

The new portfolio that has emerged from the acquisition
includes solutions for conformance and R&D customers working on
LTE, Bluetooth and NFC/RFID technologies.

 

The LTE solutions comprise extensive test coverage for
RCT, PCT and RRM, and are validated by the GCF and PTCRB for both FDD and TDD
technologies.

 

Garrett Lees, marketing manager of Mobile Broadband
Operation of Agilent, said that the company augmented the most
versatile functional test solution set on the market.

 

Test and measurement market gearing up for consolidation

 

The test and measurement (T&M) market for networks
and handsets is gearing up for consolidation.

 

Apart from Agilent Technologies, JDSU and Rohde &
Schwarz have also strengthened their T&M presence through acquisitions.
