TRAI to organize workshop on 3G quality issues

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) is
organizing a one-day workshop on quality of services for 3G networks.

This follows wide-spread criticism about 3G services
offered by all 3G operators in India. Despite claims by telecom service
providers, most of consumers are unhappy about poor Internet speeds and
availability of 3G services.

Targeting the service providers and telecom equipment
vendors, the purpose of the workshop being held on July 13 in Delhi is to
discuss about the present practices followed in India — both network and
customer centric, key performance indicators (KPIs) and their performance.

The workshop will discuss the internationally followed
best practices for KPIs and their performance effect on QoS to end users.
