Over-the-top video to heat up in the Middle East

Internet usage is forecast to significantly grow by 2015,
with usage of the network per person to have grown by 400 percent to
10.6GB, total internet users to be 119 million and 75 percent of those internet
users watching SD video.

In terms of usage, video will be one of the
fastest-growing services. In 2010, the average user viewed 37 videos per month,
which Informa expects to triple to 112 videos per month by 2015, according to
Andrew Ladbrook, research analyst of Informa Telecoms & Media.

Along with the growth of this industry in the MENA
region, Informa Telecoms & Media will be hosting the IP&TV Middle East
& Africa Forum 2011.

In 2010 the IP&TV Forum Middle East & North
Africa hosted 750 attendees from the full IPTV value chain and in which 50
percent+ were from CXO/ Director
Level.

Now, as the growth of the telco and media services in
the MENA region continues at a steady pace, the IP&TV Forum
Middle East & North Africa 2011 event also continues to provide you with a
perfect platform to learn about the latest developments in the TV industry and
network with the key decision makers from the entire IP&TV eco-system.

The IP&TV Forum Middle East & North Africa is
the ONLY event involving all Pay TV markets using IP Platforms and is the
LARGEST show, reaching the interactive TV markets in the MENA region.

Etisalat is the Official Strategic Operator Partner for
the show. They will be hosting a Special OTT Focus Day on 31st October, which will focus on the strategizing
on monetization and opportunities within the OTT space for operators,
technology providers and CE manufacturers.
