Cox Communications launches 1 gigabit speeds at Irvine Apartment

Cox Communications has launched 1 gigabit speeds, which is 100 times faster than the average broadband, at the Irvine Company’s Park Place Apartment Homes in Irvine.

With this, residents in the Southern Californian apartment will have access to gigabit speeds for their residential Internet service.

Earlier this year, Cox Communications announced that it would bring 1 gigabit speeds to residential customers in its markets in 2016. The company launched gigabit speeds to residential customers in Phoenix in October.

“Cox already offers the fastest residential Internet in Orange County, and with the launch at Park Place Apartment Homes, we’re the first provider in Southern California to offer 1 gigabit speeds to residential customers,” said Dave Bialis, senior vice president and Region Manager for Cox Communications in California.

Cox High-Speed Internet Preferred tier customer speeds increased from 25 megabits per second to 50 megabits per second and Premier tier customer speeds increased from 50 megabits per second to 100 megabits per second.

In addition, Ultimate tier speeds increased from 100 megabits per second to 150 megabits per second. These tiers represent more than 75 percent of Cox Internet customers in California.
