CenturyLink gets contract renewal worth $2.1 million from U.S. Army

Telecom Lead America: CenturyLink,
the third largest telecommunications company in the U.S has bagged a
contract renewal worth $2.1 million to provide telecommunications services
to the U.S. Army base at Fort Stewart, Ga.

“CenturyLink is honored to have won a renewed agreement
with Fort Stewart that means we will continue to supply
telecommunications, data and Internet services to the soldiers and operations
at the largest Army installation east of the Mississippi River,” said Diana
Gowen, senior vice president and general manager at CenturyLink.

The company reckons that past performance, technical
solution and total cost jointly helped it to get this contract renewal. The
contract is for one year with four one-year options.

The company said that it will continue to provide Internet,
data services, local telephone exchange and other telecommunications products
and services to support Fort Stewart’s operations and soldiers, including
the U.S. Army’s 3rd Infantry Division.

Fort Stewart covers 280,000 acres, including
Hunter Army Airfield and parts of five different counties in
southeast Georgia.

CenturyLink bags $250 million order to connect military
installations

Last year, CenturyLink won a multi-year task order valued at
more than $250 million from the Defense Information Systems
Agency/Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization (DISA/DITCO) to
provide private line services for dedicated high-speed connections between
military installations.
