Telenor names new CEOs for three business operations in Asia

Telenor Group announced new chief executive officers at Telenor Myanmar, dtac in Thailand and Grameenphone in Bangladesh.
Telenor grows in AsiaSharad Mehrotra, CEO of Telenor Myanmar, will be the new CEO of dtac, Telenor Group’s mobile operator in Thailand. Sharad Mehrotra replaces Alexandra Reich, who is seeking new leadership opportunities.

Hans Martin Hoegh Henrichsen, chief corporate affairs officer of Telenor Myanmar, will become acting CEO of Telenor Myanmar in place of Sharad Mehrotra.

Yasir Azman, deputy CEO and CMO at Grameenphone, will be the CEO of Grameenphone. Grameenphone’s current CEO Michael Foley will be relocating to Africa, where his family is based.

Telenor said Alexandra Reich has assisted dtac Thailand’s challenging transition including new spectrum and network rollout and a renewed focus on customer satisfaction and distribution excellence.

Yasir Azman, while serving as deputy CEO, has run one of the best performing sales and distribution organisations in Telenor Group. Yasir Azman is the first home-grown CEO of Grameenphone.

Michael Foley led the company through an impressive digital transformation as well as gave valuable contributions in Pakistan and Bulgaria, Telenor said.
