Telecom Lead Europe: Huawei has conducted the world’s
first successful execution of an LTE Category 4 field trial on a commercial LTE
network in Europe. The field trial demonstrated excellent performance with
download data rates of up to 150Mbps.
The trial is an LTE industry milestone as it helps meet the
requirements of fast data traffic growth in an era of mobile broadband and
brings an unparalleled service experience to end users.
The trial was based on an LTE Category 4 device and one
commercial LTE network deployed by Huawei in Europe. The LTE device utilized
the industry’s first Hisilicon LTE multi-mode chipset to support LTE R9.
This commercial trial not only proves Huawei to be
the world’s first vendor to support end-to-end LTE Category 4 solutions, but
also consolidates Huawei’s leadership in LTE technology innovation,” said Ying
Weimin, Huawei president for GSM&UMTS
At this year’s Mobile World Congress, Huawei showcased cutting-edge
LTE-A inter-band carrier aggregation (CA) solution to improve the utilization
of discontinued spectrum resources. Huawei also featured Beyond LTE technology,
which significantly increases site peak rates of up to 30Gbps (20 times faster
than existing commercial LTE networks).
Huawei also claims to have launched 31 of the 64 commercial
LTE networks launched globally, more than any other company.
Recently Telecom Lead reported
that Huawei, which recently won its first LTE deal in India from Airtel, has
missed a big opportunity to sign up with T-Mobile USA.
Siemens Networks to expand its HSPA+ service and construct its new LTE network.
With this, major LTE equipment vendors – Huawei, ZTE,
Alcatel-Lucent, Cisco, NEC, Samsung and Fujitsu – lost opportunity to work in
the top LTE market with a wireless major.
