TRAI reveals result of voice quality during drive test on highways and rail

African smartphone user image by pri .orgTRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) has revealed the result of voice / call quality offered by mobile operators after conducting drive tests through its appointed agency on four highways and six rail routes.

TRAI analysed the network quality provided by telecom service providers for voice service only and not data. TRAI assessed voice quality of all telecom service providers – based on coverage, call setup success rate, drop call rate, block call rate, handover success rate and Rx quality.

All telecom operators have met QoS benchmark of Drop Call Rate of 2 percent except Reliance Communications. QoS benchmark of Rx Quality >95 percent was not met by Reliance Communications, Airtel 3G and Reliance Jio.

Hyderabad to Bangalore

All telecom operators have met QoS benchmark of Drop Call Rate of 2 percent except Vodafone 2G and Tata Teleservices (CDMA). QoS benchmark of Rx Quality >95 percent was not met by Aircel, Tata Teleservices CDMA and Reliance Jio.

Silchar to Guwahati

All telecom operators have fail to meet met QoS benchmark of Drop Call Rate of 2 percent and of Rx Quality >95 percent.

Belgaum to Mumbai

Idea Cellular, Tata Teleservices, Vodafone, BSNL 3G and Telenor have failed to meet QoS benchmark of Drop Call Rate of 2 percent. Airtel 3G, BSNL 3G, Idea 3G, Vodafone 3G, Telenor and Reliance Jio have failed to meet Rx Quality >95 percent.

Delhi to Chandigrah

Only Airtel 2G and Reliance Jio are meeting QoS benchmark of Drop Call Rate of 2 percent. Only BSNL has met Rx Quality >95 percent.

Howrah to Gaya

Reliance Jio is meeting QoS benchmark of Drop Call Rate of 2 percent. All telecom operators fail to meet Rx Quality >95 percent.

Dibrugrah to Guwahati

Reliance Jio is meeting QoS benchmark of Drop Call Rate of 2 percent. All telecom operators fail to meet Rx Quality >95 percent.

Bhubansehwar to Tatnagar

All telecom operators have failed to meet Drop Call Rate except RJio. However all TSPs have fail to meet Rx Quality >95 percent.

Ahmedabad to Mumbai

All telecom operators have failed to meet Drop Call Rate except Idea and RJio. Only BSNL has met Rx Quality >95 percent.

Indore to Bilaspur

All telecom operators have failed to meet Drop Call Rate except Airtel, Vodafone and Reliance Jio. Only BSNL Airtel 2G, Idea 2G, Tata 2G and Vodafone 2G have met Rx Quality >95 percent.
