Huawei indoor solution assists Cable and Wireless and China Mobile to reduce costs

huawei-technologies-for-telecomsHuawei has revealed how its new indoor coverage solutions are assisting Cable and Wireless and China Mobile to reduce costs and improve business growth.

Huawei said its Indoor Coverage Digitalization Business Solution announced today at Operations Transformation Forum 2017 (OTF 2017) in Hong Kong are assisting telecom operators which are facing challenges in indoor network construction due to difficulties in accessing indoor sites.

Because indoor networks are not promising high quality services, telecom operators are facing challenges in adding revenue. This apart, indoor site projects typically have a long return on investment (ROI) period.

“With creative solutions, such as indoor and outdoor traffic differentiation, hotspot identification, ROI analysis, and indoor network solution match, this solution helps operators with precise identification of value hotspots to realize accurate investment,” said Zheng Ruguo, chief marketing officer of Huawei’s Global Technical Services.

Mobile data traffic is expected to increase at an annual compound rate of 49 percent, and more than 70 percent of the data traffic will take place indoors, according to the latest insights by GSMA Mobile Economy.

Huawei has deployed the indoor solution in telecom markets of Australia, China, and Mexico. The hotspot identification accuracy reached 85 percent, and the ROI period was expected to reduce to 3.5 years on average.

Huawei said its latest Indoor Easy Pole Solution can serve as a billboard and provide phone charging services. While indoor network experience improves, the building owner has advertisement revenues and the public have access to free phone charging services.

Huawei enabled Cable and Wireless Panama to reduce site access costs to zero, and achieve easy installation, simple O&M, and fast deployment, contributing to significant TCO savings.

The indoor solution from Huawei is assisting China Mobile to provide customers with smart shopping services, such as shopping navigation, smart parking, and precise promotions in Wuxi Coastal City. It also provides big data-based business services like customer flow analysis, user profiling, and business insights to the mall managing side.

China Mobile achieved free site access, generated B2B revenues, helping reduce the ROI period to 3 years. With significantly improved shopping experience, the customer flow there increased by 40 percent in half of a year.
