Telecom Lead Middle East: Orange Jordan has signed an
agreement with Ericsson to expand and modernize its 2G and 3G networks across
the kingdom.
The agreement enables Ericsson to modernize Orange’s 2G
network while expanding the 3G network.
The upgrades will allow Orange Jordan to meet the demands of
its growing subscriber base and continue to provide customers with high quality
connectivity throughout the kingdom, said a statement.

relationship with Orange Jordan, and to have been awarded the modernization and
expansion contract of their 3G and 2G networks. We are committed to working
with Orange to provide them with tailored and adaptable solutions that can help
them meet the demands of their increasing subscriber base, and we look forward

and head of Ericsson North Middle East.
Ericsson will also be supplying Orange with its latest RBS
6000 technology, an energy-efficient compact site solution that prepares the
network for LTE/4G technology, it said.
The RBS 6000’s deployment is cost-effective and allows for
the development of new, high-speed mobile broadband services such as mobile TV
and web applications. The base station will ensure a smooth transition to new
technology for Orange in the future, while minimizing operational expenses and
reducing environmental impact.

3 Italia selects Ericsson to upgrade 3G network to support 4G
LTE
Recently, 3 Italia inked an extension of its network
transformation agreement with Ericsson to upgrade its existing 3G mobile
broadband access, core and transport network to support 42Mbps HSPA and 100Mbps
LTE. The project enables 3 Italia users to benefit from high speed mobile
broadband network with increased speed, coverage, capacity, performance and
services.
