As per the multi-million deal, Huawei, a Chinese telecom infrastructure company, will analyze user requirements, explore potential markets, and gain insight into the wireless home broadband (HBB) business of T-Mobile. In April 2013, Huawei and T-Mobile collaborated on HomeNet deployment and wireless HBB service development.
T-Mobile, which does not have a fixed network infrastructure in Austria, has leveraged the mobile network capabilities to deliver better user experience over traditional fixed HBB networks from network deployment.
“T-Mobile Austria managed to reverse the trend in decreasing revenue. The year-on-year revenue growth of 5.8 percent as of Q3 2016 generated a positive business cycle,” said Huawei in a media note issued on Tuesday.
The earlier wireless to the x (WTTx) services collaboration yielded financial results and maintained excellent user experience of wireless HBB services. T-Mobile was selected as the popular Internet provider in Austria, surpassing fixed network providers in Austrian Internet Monitor’s (AIM) user friendliness evaluation held for mobile operators.
“HomeNet, our fast Internet for the home, has become the most important new product category for T-Mobile,” said Andreas Bierwirth, CEO of T-Mobile Austria. “We offer our customers fiber from the air without requiring complex line installation.”
