By Telecom Lead Team: AirWatch, a provider of mobile
security, mobile device management, mobile application management and mobile
content management, has entered into new alliance with Entrust, a provider of
identity-based security solutions to develop an innovative solution for
securing large enterprise networks.
This collaboration will help in advancing access for
Entrust PKI, Managed Service and IdentityGuard users who can then use
AirWatch’s Software as a Service (SaaS), appliance-based or on-premise
solutions.
Furthermore, customers will be able to use improved
integration between Apple iOS, RIM BlackBerry and Google Android devices and
their enterprise through web-based API.
The AirWatch solution provides a full set of mobile
security, MDM, MAM and MCM features, including the most accessible, easy-to-use
web- and mobile-based management console; a Secure Content Locker; a Secure
Email Gateway; an AirWatch App Catalog.
“Through this partnership, we are looking to address
the flexibility that users crave, while providing the secure access points
enterprises demand. We look forward to working with AirWatch to help our
customers work anywhere, anytime, improving productivity and efficiency without
compromising the integrity of their network,” said Bill Conner, president
and CEO of Entrust.
The collaboration will empower enterprise IT departments
with the ability to apply industry-standard technologies, including Personal
Identity Verification (PIV), will offer greater security and enhanced
interoperability to complement AirWatch’s large-scale deployments.
“This partnership helps mitigate the risk of
accessing sensitive information and intellectual property via mobile devices,
while also delivering the convenience of mobile and BYOD programs,”
said John Marshall, CEO of AirWatch.
The solution is anticipated to be available in Q2 2012.
Last year, AirWatch launched HTML5-based MDM platform, providing AirWatch’s management console
users with a more powerful, faster and efficient end-user experience.
