LitePoint unveils 802.11ac manufacturing test solution

By Telecom Lead Team: LitePoint, a provider of wireless
test solutions, has launched manufacturing test solution for very high
throughput wireless devices supporting the 802.11ac standard. LitePoint will be
demonstrating the IQxel and the power and economy of testing 802.11ac devices
with a single-box tester at Mobile World Congress 2012.

The LitePoint IQxel tests 802.11 a/b/g/n/p/ac and
Bluetooth 1.0, 2.1, 3.0 and 4.0 devices in an easy to deploy, single-box test
solution.

“802.11ac, the 5th generation of Wi-Fi (5G WiFi), is
the world’s fastest and most reliable Wi-Fi for HD-quality video streaming and
near instantaneous data synch. Broadcom is working aggressively with LitePoint
to design an efficient and consistent testing solution that will enable our
customers to deliver state-of-the-art, high-performance 5G WiFi products to the
market,” said Bryan Richter, director, Hardware Development Engineering,
Broadcom.

The IQxel runs test programs written for previous
generations of LitePoint test equipment enabling a straightforward transition
for customers from IQflex and IQview to 802.11ac technology devices. Customers
can quickly ramp volume production in days utilizing LitePoint’s large library
of over 100 IQfactâ„¢ chipset test software solutions.

“The IQxel extends LitePoint’s leadership in
connectivity testing to the fast growing 802.11ac technology space. It enables
LitePoint’s many existing customers to easily test all 802.11 technology modes
by leveraging their existing test software,” said John Lukez, director of
Product Marketing for LitePoint.

IQxel tests 802.11ac 80 MHz and 160 MHz SISO and MIMO
devices delivering the high-performance EVM measurement capabilities needed for
256 QAM modulation used in 802.11ac. IQxel provides consistent test yields and
reliability in manufacturing environments owing to its single chassis design
with fully calibrated RF measurements to the DUT connection point.
