Averna, a developer of test solutions, has acquired Europe-based Test & Measurement Solutions.

The company did not disclose the financial terms.

T&M Solutions develops solutions to test, measure, inspect, assemble and validate products in nearly all segments of the production industry. Averna focuses on telecoms and electronics device makers.

Headquartered in Belgium, T&M Solutions has offices in the Netherlands and Poland. T&M Solutions has 100 employees, including 70 engineers with almost 50 NI certifications. On the other hand, Averna has more than 425 employees, including more than 200 engineers with 125-plus NI certifications.

Andre Gareau, president and CEO of Averna, said: “We’re motivated by robust pipeline of opportunities in Europe and around the world.”

This strategic acquisition increases Averna’s global reach as well as provides local presence in Europe. T&M Solutions brings expertise in semiconductor testing, vision inspection systems and precision assembly to complement Averna’s existing solutions.

Roel Geraerts and Kurt Hensen, owners of T&M Solutions, will play key roles in operations and expansion plans for the European market.

Averna claims that it is a leader at the forefront of test and RF innovation with worldwide Centers of Excellence.

Meanwhile, Averna recently opened RF and FPGA Innovation Lab at its US headquarters in Atlanta.

The lab, equipped with the latest National Instruments equipment, will focus on bringing more RF and FPGA innovations to market by assessing a multitude of designs and ideas, accelerating new product development, and further deepening ongoing research.

In addition, Intel has selected Averna’s DP-1000 DOCSIS Protocol Analyzer to test its DOCSIS 3.1 chipset prior to final certification. The DP-1000 captures and filters MAC-layer data in real-time to verify RF parameters, validate MAC-level communication, troubleshoot interoperability issues, and improve performance.
