BSNL slashes call rates on select plans for new mobile users

Telecom network operator BSNL has reduced call rate on its Rs 36 voucher for per second plan and Rs 37 voucher for per minute plan — aimed at adding new mobile customers including MNP.

BSNL is offering local and STD call on BSNL network to BSNL customers at 10 paisa per minute and local and STD on BSNL to other networks at 30 paisa per minute in plan Rs 37 voucher.

On the other hand, BSNL is offering local and STD call on its network to BSNL customers at 1 paisa per 3 second and local and STD on BSNL to other telecom networks at 2 paisa per 3 second in the Rs 36 voucher.

“We have reduced our tariff to rock bottom for new customer,” said RK Mittal, director (CM), BSNL.

The reduction in call tariffs is available for a short period. The strategy of BSNL is to enhance demand for Indian phone users for it new telecom network. The state-run telecom company added 157,564 mobile customers and lost 124,158 via mobile number portability (MNP) between July to November 2015. BSNL mobile customer base stood at 79.6 million.

The mobile scheme will be valid only for the first two months of a customer’s joining BSNL.

Meanwhile, BSNL has selected Aegis BPO for its customer service. BSNL has also started monitoring complaints on the social media to provide resolution to aggrieved customers, PTI reported.

Aegis has recently won a contract from Hutch Sri Lanka to provide Customer Lifecycle Management across Sri Lanka. Aegis will provide a comprehensive spectrum of Telecom BPM solutions to Hutch including seamless multi-lingual customer experience management
