Huawei powers Dhiraagu LTE-Advanced network launch in Maldives

DHIRAAGU launches LTE-Advanced
Dhiraagu, a telecom operator in Maldives, has commercially launched the LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) service – capable of offering speeds up to 300Mbps.

Telecom network vendor Huawei has supported Dhiraagu for the LTE-Advanced network roll out.

Interestingly 45 countries have so far commercially launched LTE-Advanced services because there are very few LTE-A supported handsets currently available in the market.

Dhiraagu said customers need to ensure that their smartphones have LTE Cat6 support with Carrier Aggregation feature using the band 3 (1800MHz) and band 7 (2600Mhz). On this network, customers uplink speeds will offer up to 50 Mbps for mobile broadband.

“LTE-Advanced is yet another step in our efforts to offer the best mobile internet possible to our customers,” said Mirshan Hassan, Dhiraagu Manager Marketing Communications & PR.
