Bharti Airtel’s Wynk Music music application crosses 5 mn downloads

Indian telecom service provider Bharti Airtel said that Wynk Music, its music application, has crossed 5 million downloads in 6 months of launch.

Google has featured the music app in the Favourite Apps section on Google Play Store. The main features of Wynk app includes ad-free music on smartphone with track audio streaming, unlimited cache downloads, mp3 purchase and caller ring back tone features.

The latest app version supports Google Chromecast. Users can also enjoy browsing through the app and playing music from their TV screens. Wynk has an HD catalogue of more than 1.8 million Indian and International songs and this is growing every day.

Airtel India earlier this month said it Q3 fiscal 2015 revenues rose 12.6 percent – primarily led by 13 percent increase in mobile. Airtel’s India mobile data revenue surged 74.3 percent to Rs 2,114 crore. Data usage grew 38.3 percent and data customer increased 32.4 percent. Data ARPU of Airtel has moved up by Rs 34 to Rs 170 in Q3 fiscal 2015. Mobile data revenues of Airtel India contribute to 16.2 percent of mobile India revenues against 10.6 percent.
