Samsung, Huawei, Micromax lead smartphone market share in Sri Lanka in Q3: CMR

Samsung, Huawei, Micromax are the top three smartphone vendors in Sri Lanka in the third quarter of 2013 (July-August), according to CyberMedia Research.

The share of Samsung in Sri Lankan telecom market in Q3 was 39 percent.

Huawei smartphone market share in Sri Lanka was 15.5 percent.

Micromax, India’s second largest smartphone vendor, has a market share of 11.2 percent in Sri Lanka, CMR said.

In overall phone category, Nokia is the market leader with 27.2 percent market share.

Samsung share in overall phone space is 17.4 percent.

Micromax has a market share of 16.1 percent in overall phone market in Sri Lanka.

The CMR report said the Sri Lanka mobile phones market recorded sales (shipments) of over 0.69 million units in Q3.
