Elephant Talk
Communications, an international provider of business software and services to
the telecommunications and financial services industries, announced that it has
signed a Mobile Network Virtual Operator (MVNO) agreement with SpeakUp.
SpeakUp is a
Netherlands-based company whose telecom infrastructure covers the Netherlands,
as well as Germany, Belgium, and the UK. With the support of Elephant Talk’s
infrastructure, SpeakUp will offer a new range of innovative services by
combining both fixed and mobile functionalities.
“The
partnership between SpeakUp and Elephant Talk opens a new suite of fully
converged fixed-mobile service to the business market. This is a very promising
extension of the Elephant Talk service offering, bringing an extended range of
innovative functionalities to a new market segment. It is expected that SpeakUp
will introduce these services in all markets where Elephant Talk will be active
as a Mobile Virtual Network Enabler,” said Steven van der Velden, CEO,
Elephant Talk.
These new
services will bring flexibility and innovative services to business customers.
SpeakUp will target the small and medium enterprise market to offer
high-quality, fully integrated fixed and mobile flexible services that are easy
to use for business customers.
The
functionalities of the fixed network that was built by SpeakUp have already
resulted in a significant installed base of landline customers. These
functionalities will be combined with the innovative services of the mobile
virtual platform of Elephant Talk.
For a
business customer, the difference between a landline and mobile phone will
disappear and the business customer will have access to all, fully converged
functionalities whether they originate from the former fixed environment or the
mobile environment. As a result, a business customer will have access to
easy-to-use functionalities that are enabled through fixed-mobile cloud
services but without heavy investments.
“SpeakUp
has always offered innovative telecommunications services to the corporate
market. This new step toward increasing our product offering in the mobile
market is a logical one. Investing in the seamless integration between the
networks of SpeakUp and Elephant Talk will allow SpeakUp to expand its value
propositions and allow customers to be sure of optimal reachability and ease of
use, wherever they are located,” said Florian Overkamp, CEO, SpeakUp.
Recently,
Elephant Talk Communications announced the signing of a similar agreement with
Your Card, a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) serving the Dutch market.
“As Your
Card intends to roll out these services in many different countries, this is
another key step in our global campaign to expand our Mobile Virtual Network
Enabler (MVNE) platform services to new markets in Europe, the Middle East and
the Americas,” said Velden.
