ZTE launched the VoLTE call with eSRVCC, a voice solution that enables higher quality voice calls while the network is upgrading to LTE and provides end-to-end QoS assurance. The eSRVCC was proposed by ZTE at 3GPP in 2009 and is supported by a number of operators and vendors. It was accepted into 3GPP R10 as a standard technology promotion.

“eSRVCC VoLTE call improves connection time when compared to CSFB solution and shortens handover time when compared to SRVCC solution. It gives LTE users more options and better service experience,” said ZTE Core Network vice president Tu Jiashun. “The success of this solution is a milestone in the development of the VoLTE ecosystem.”

ZTE has achieved comprehensive success in VoLTE standards development, equipment research and end-to-end commercial solution in the telecoms industry.

Transitioning to IMS-based VoLTE, VoWi-Fi and VoHSPA can reduce per-subscriber costs by 63%

Transitioning to IMS-based voice over IP on LTE, Wi-Fi and HSPA/HSPA+ (VoLTE, VoWi-Fi and VoHSPA) can reduce per-subscriber costs by up to 63 percent, according to a study by Mavenir Systems.

According to the study, per-subscriber costs will be $1.80 per subscriber per month in a typical North American scenario due to the benefits of LTE spectral efficiency and Wi-Fi offload as a larger percentage of subscribers rely on MBB access.

ZTE leads fixed broadband terminals market

ZTE, according to a September report by Infonetics, had the highest share of both overall sales and shipments, at 10.3 percent and 15.8 percent respectively, among major fixed broadband terminals vendors for the past rolling 4 quarters.
