George Ayres to Become VP global sales at Hughes Telematics

Hughes Telematics, a provider of next generation
connected solutions, announced the appointment of George Ayres as its vice
president of Global Sales. In this new role, Ayres will oversee automotive OEM
business development as well as aftermarket utilizing HTI’s In-Drive connected
vehicle solution.

 

Ayres’ extensive experience includes various executive
level sales and marketing roles at Ford and Jaguar, where he was instrumental
in building brand and market share at each respective OEM.

 

In this role, George will lead HTI’s efforts in
developing new business on a global basis as we continue to roll out innovative
technology and compelling services.

 

He started his career at Ford Motor Company and held a
wide variety of positions including Sales and Marketing Director of Ford’s
Special Vehicle Team Performance Group where he helped launch the Ford Shelby
Cobra GT500.

 

Ayres was vice president of Marketing for Jaguar North
America during the largest volume growth the brand ever experienced in the U.S.
market. Most recently, Ayres was president and COO of the Skip Barber Racing
School; the world’s largest racing training organization, where he created five
new enthusiast programs.

 

George’s extensive background both in automotive and
sales and marketing will be a tremendous asset to HTI as we create new programs
that help connect our customers and expand our company,” said Erik Goldman,
