Reliance Communications first quarter income up 8 percent to Rs 5,319 crore

Telecom Lead India:
Reliance Communications has reported 8 percent increase in first quarter income
at Rs 5,319 crore from Rs 4,940 in Q1 previous year.

 

Net profit grew 3 percent to Rs 162 crore from Rs 157 crore in
Q1 previous year.

Both wireless and GEBU businesses contributed to the profit.

 

First quarter’s EBITDA increased 3 percent to Rs 1,650 crore
from Rs 1,602 crore in Q1 previous year.

 

In Q1, wireless revenue grew 7 percent y-o-y on comparable
basis. Q1 wireless EBITDA increased 14 percent y-o-y on comparable basis.

 

Reliance Communications said its revenue per minute (RPM) stood
at 43.1 paisa.

 

The mobile service provider has achieved stable RPM for the
last 9 consecutive quarters despite increasing competition and over supply of
minutes in market place.

 

Global Enterprise (GEBU) revenue went up to Rs 2,451 crore
from Rs 2,292 crore, growing 7 percent y-o-y.

 

In Q1, EBIDTA of Global Enterprise was Rs 592 crore, up by 5
percent from Rs 564 crore. EBITDA margin in the first quarter stands at 24.1
percent.

 

Reliance Communications’ main achievements in the first
quarter include its tie up with Google Android and launch of 3G tablet on
platform.
