Subscriber growth and usage trends

Reliance Jio’s total subscriber base reached 515.3 million in December 2025, up from 506.4 million in September 2025, reflecting net additions of 8.9 million during the quarter. Monthly churn remained stable at 1.8 percent, indicating sustained customer stickiness.

Customer engagement continued to rise. Total data traffic increased to 62.3 billion GB in December 2025 from 58.4 billion GB in September and 46.5 billion GB in June. On a year-on-year basis, total data traffic grew 34 percent to over 62 exabytes. Per capita data consumption stood at 40.7 GB per month during the quarter.

Voice traffic showed steady growth, reaching 1.53 trillion minutes in December 2025, compared with 1.5 trillion minutes in September and 1.46 trillion minutes in June.

ARPU improves on higher engagement

Average revenue per user increased to Rs 213.7 per month in December 2025, compared with Rs 211.4 in September and Rs 203.3 in June. ARPU improvement was driven by higher customer engagement, partly offset by promotional offers for unlimited 5G and fixed broadband services.

Strong financial performance

Reliance Jio reported quarterly revenue of Rs 43,683 crore, marking a year-on-year increase of 12.7 percent. Quarterly EBITDA rose 16.4 percent year-on-year to Rs 19,303 crore, underlining operating leverage from scale, data consumption growth, and expanding digital services.

Mukesh D. Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, said Jio expanded its subscriber base through attractive propositions enabled by a comprehensive, indigenous technology stack tailored for Indian markets. He added that the business delivered a robust financial performance with 16.4 percent growth in EBITDA.

5G, AirFiber and fixed broadband milestones

Jio crossed several key milestones during the quarter. The total 5G subscriber base reached 253 million as of December 2025, with 5G now accounting for around 53 percent of total wireless traffic. The growth reflects consistent increases in customer engagement on high-speed networks.

The fixed broadband base expanded to 25.3 million connected premises. Jio AirFiber continued to accelerate, reaching over 11.5 million subscribers, making it the first fixed wireless access service globally to surpass 10 million users.

Expanding digital ecosystem and AI offerings

During the quarter, Jio launched the Jio-Gemini offer and expanded eligibility to all unlimited 5G users. Eligible customers receive free access to an 18-month Gemini Pro subscription valued at Rs 35,100, which includes access to the Gemini 3.0 Pro model, advanced image and video generation tools, expanded NotebookLM features, and 2 TB of cloud storage.

Jio also announced the availability of YouTube Premium for JioHome prepaid users on monthly plans above Rs 1,499, enabling ad-free viewing, offline access, background playback, and YouTube Music Premium on large screens.

JioAICloud continued to scale, reaching around 50 million registered users as of December 2025. The platform strengthened its focus on youth and students, while adding features such as Gujarati and Marathi voice search and AI-driven auto-organisation of files.

Vision for AI-enabled growth

Akash M. Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm, said Jio has been the catalyst for India’s digital revolution by bringing world-class technology platforms to Indian users. He noted that Jio’s base of over 500 million subscribers, combined with deep customer insights and a pan-India distribution network, will empower Reliance Intelligence to help make India AI-enabled and AI-empowered for citizens, and enterprises.
