ZTE Corporation and key industry partners have completed the initiation of the Transport Application Programming Interface (TAPI) standard under the ITU‑T Study Group 15 framework, marking a major step toward open and interoperable next‑generation optical networks. TAPI serves as a northbound interface linking SDN controllers to upper‑layer applications, enabling automated control, programmability, and multi‑vendor equipment interoperability in Software‑Defined Networks.
