Zain Bahrain and Ericsson Revolutionize Connectivity with Next-Gen 5G Edge Technology

Zain Bahrain has partnered with Ericsson to introduce advanced 5G solutions featuring Edge User Plane technology, significantly enhancing network speed, reliability, and ultra‑low latency across the Kingdom. This innovation supports Bahrain’s digital economy goals by enabling Industry 4.0 use cases such as AI‑driven predictive maintenance, autonomous systems, and real‑time monitoring for businesses and government entities. 

ZTE and Partners Launch TAPI Standard, Powering Next-Gen Optical Networks

ZTE Corporation and key industry partners have completed the initiation of the Transport Application Programming Interface (TAPI) standard under the ITU‑T Study Group 15 framework, marking a major step toward open and interoperable next‑generation optical networks. TAPI serves as a northbound interface linking SDN controllers to upper‑layer applications, enabling automated control, programmability, and multi‑vendor equipment interoperability in Software‑Defined Networks. The standard aims to break vendor lock‑in, improve network operational efficiency, and support flexible, intelligent service delivery. ZTE has conducted interoperability tests with China Unicom’s SD‑OTN orchestrator and deployed TAPI in a live network, advancing AI‑empowered all‑optical networks and fostering innovation.

Transforming Employee Healthcare: Nice Deer & Telecom Egypt Launch Smart Digital Platform

Nice Deer, an Egyptian health tech provider, signed a cooperation protocol with Telecom Egypt to deploy its digital platform for managing healthcare services of over 28,000 employees. The partnership focuses on innovation, automating insurance operations, enhancing claims accuracy, improving transparency, and driving operational cost efficiencies. It strengthens Nice Deer’s corporate footprint while aligning with Telecom Egypt’s strategy of modernising services and leveraging smart technology for customer-centric healthcare management, boosting service reliability and user experience.
