Telehouse Canada Teams Up with Megaport to Revolutionize Cloud Connectivity

Telehouse Canada has announced a partnership with Megaport to bring advanced cloud connectivity solutions to its data centres, giving customers access to Megaport’s network with over 280 cloud on‑ramps and 300+ service providers. This innovation lets businesses build hybrid and multi‑cloud architectures with on‑demand, scalable connectivity and simplified network management via Megaport’s portal and APIs. Organizations can leverage Megaport’s AI Exchange (AIx) for access to GPU-as-a-Service and AI resources.

Concerns Raised on EchoStar’s $40 bn Spectrum Deals

Two Democratic lawmakers raised competition and consumer protection concerns about EchoStar’s agreements to sell roughly $40 billion in wireless spectrum, about $23 billion to AT&T and $17 billion to SpaceX, urging the FCC and Department of Justice to review the deals closely. The sales represent large investments that could accelerate deployment of 5G and satellite‑based services: AT&T gains valuable mid‑ and low‑band spectrum for network expansion, while SpaceX can bolster its Starlink Direct‑to‑Cell connectivity, Reuters news report said.

Saudi STC and Humain Team Up to Power Next-Gen AI Data Centres

Saudi Arabia’s largest telecom operator STC and AI company Humain have signed a memorandum of understanding to form a joint venture to develop and operate advanced data centres capable of handling up to 1 gigawatt of computing power, starting with 250 MW capacity. The partnership with Humain holding 51 Percent and STC 49 Percent supports Saudi efforts to accelerate AI development, diversify its economy beyond oil, and meet rising demand for computing power. It brings together STC’s digital infrastructure expertise and Humain’s AI focus, aiming to offer infrastructure for customers running AI workloads and large language models.

Ericsson Powers NTT DOCOMO’s 5G with Energy-Efficient Massive MIMO Radios

Ericsson has put its 4.5 GHz Massive MIMO AIR 3255 radios into live service in NTT DOCOMO’s 5G network to address rising traffic demand in high‑usage areas, starting December 2025. The radios use the latest Ericsson Silicon to improve performance while cutting energy use by 25  percent and CO₂ footprint by 20  percent, and are 20  percent lighter than previous models, lowering deployment costs and complexity. Designed for efficient spectrum use and enhanced throughput even in congestion via multi‑user MIMO, this innovation supports higher quality connectivity for customers.
