GSMA Launches Cloud-Based Entitlements Platform to Simplify Mobile Feature Activation

GSMA, the global mobile industry association, has announced the launch of GSMA Entitlements, a cloud-based platform designed to help mobile operators rapidly activate and manage next-generation mobile services on both Apple iOS and Android devices.

Developed in partnership with telecom software company NetLync, GSMA Entitlements provides mobile network operators (MNOs) and mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) with a faster, more cost-efficient way to deliver advanced features such as eSIM Transfer, iMessage and FaceTime authentication, cross-platform RCS messaging, VoWiFi, satellite messaging, and companion device support.

Addressing a Critical Industry Challenge

Traditionally, entitlement server setups have required months of custom integration, repeated whenever new device specifications are released. This has slowed operator rollouts, increased costs, and created compliance challenges with device manufacturers such as Apple, Samsung, and Google.

With GSMA Entitlements, operators can reduce deployment times to just four to six weeks, thanks to NetLync’s Diameter Security Gateway (DSG), SaaS + PaaS integration, and a direct link to the GSMA Network Settings Exchange (NSX) service.

“GSMA Entitlements marks a major step forward in simplifying mobile feature activation. Our platform removes the integration burden, shortens deployment times, and helps operators deliver seamless device experiences,” said Sianne Ryder, General Manager, GSMA Services.

How GSMA Entitlements Benefits Operators

The platform is built to help operators:

Accelerate feature rollouts: Onboard new device features in weeks, not months.

Reduce operational costs: Avoid expensive in-house development or fragmented third-party systems.

Stay compliant: Meet manufacturer requirements, including GSMA TS.43 specifications.

Boost customer experience: Deliver consistent, policy-driven feature activation across iOS and Android ecosystems.

Futureproof operations: Scale easily as new services such as satellite messaging and cross-device authentication evolve.

Key Features of GSMA Entitlements

The platform supports a broad set of entitlement use cases, including:

eSIM Quick Transfer (iOS) and eSIM Transfer (Android)

Cross-platform RCS messaging

VoLTE and VoWiFi provisioning

Apple Watch and Android Wear connectivity

Satellite messaging support (Android)

iMessage and FaceTime authentication

Hotspot tethering and phone number verification

EAP-AKA device authentication

Additionally, the platform includes developer-led self-onboarding, testing, diagnostics, AI-assisted APIs, and advanced reporting tools, enabling operators to monitor and manage services in real time.

Partnership with NetLync

NetLync, a telecom software company, co-developed the platform to deliver what it calls the industry’s first Entitlements-as-a-Service (EaaS) solution.

“With GSMA Entitlements, we’re enabling operators of every size to integrate new features in weeks and be future-ready,” said Emir Aboulhosn, CEO & Co-Founder of NetLync.

Why This Matters for Mobile Operators

With growing demand for seamless mobile experiences and rising complexity from device manufacturers, operators face immense pressure to deliver new services quickly and securely. By centralizing entitlement management across iOS and Android, GSMA Entitlements allows operators to streamline operations, reduce risk, and provide customers with a smoother, feature-rich mobile experience.

The service is already trusted by leading operators worldwide and has proven successful in trials, where some operators integrated it into their OSS/BSS stack in as little as four weeks with minimal developer resources.
