EOLO CEO explain why it selected Mavenir’s 5G Core

EOLO, Italy’s leading fixed wireless access (FWA) broadband provider, has selected Mavenir to supply the 5G SA Core for its Gbps FWA network. This marks one of the world’s first 5G standalone FWA deployments using mmWave, aimed at delivering cost-effective broadband to areas lacking fiber connectivity.

EOLO has selected Mavenir’s 5G SA Core for its flexibility and interoperability, integrating with 6Wind’s User Plane Function (UPF) in an industry-first collaboration between different vendors. The deployment will also introduce live transmission of both IP and Ethernet data units (IPDU and EPDU) for the first time.

Stefano Cantarelli, Mavenir’s Executive VP, highlighted the project’s innovative approach and its role in advancing rural connectivity.

Guido Garrone, EOLO’s CEO, praised Mavenir’s future-proof 5G Core and its ability to enable best-in-class partnerships.

Mavenir’s AI-powered network software enhances efficiency, security, and monetization for CSPs. EOLO, a leader in ultra-broadband FWA, covers over 7,000 municipalities and connects 1.6 million people, maintaining a strong focus on bridging the digital divide in Italy.
